The YouTube algorithm came up with service dog handler videos.Specifically the ones that weaponise their animals when something they don’t like happens.What do I mean by that?

1)Saying that they are going to sic their lawyer on the owner of whatever place it is.

2)Following people with what they think are “fake” service dogs and also claiming that they are following them all over the store.Also, walking their service dogs-repeatedly-past dogs that they KNOW are not trained.

3)If you look at them wrong they say you are distracting their service dog(Have seen this on too many service dog handler videos.)

OR:

“I’m being attacked because my service dog meetup was asked to move because we were blocking the way”

4) Trying to get out as many “OMG my service dog was ATTACKED!!!! videos.

5)Lady with seizures-who is driving-who has a service dog.Now,I know it varies from state to state..but isn’t that a liability?

6)Frequently have the comments section of their videos so that people can’t comment.

7)Service dog handler who put a pair of panties on her dog, then put them back up.EW.

Y’all need to have your dogs on a leash. This morning I was walking to the bus stop and I was walking towards an unleashed dog which growled and barked at me. To be fair the owner IMMEDIATELY put the leash on the dog but what if she hadn’t been able to?

IMO it’s a safety thing.People know and they move their dog out of the way if they know their dog is not that friendly . Sometimes there are dogs that are unleashed and it’s OK because it’s not going to affect me(I’m in my house watching them walk bay.Where I live I can see the whole neighbourhood walk by.)HowEVER when I’m out walking around and almost have an incident, that is when I have concerns.I don’t know if your dog is friendly or not, and I’ve read plenty of stories of supposedly “friendly” dogs mauling people(including their owners) to death.

The guy(usually it’s a guy) “playing” the violin outside of Target or similar stores. It’s all over,not just where I live,either.It’s a coordinated thing.

There’s a formula with a sign that says 3 kids/need money for rent/diapers and they have both Venmo and CashApp accounts.Anyone who does that(along with giving them cash out of hand) is STUPID with a capital S. Sometimes the whole family is there-and they leave in a nice, new car.I have heard of them leaving in Porsches.Yes, really.

YouTube has some interesting videos.As we have established it is EASY to fall down rabbit holes on various subjects and one of them is diets.Strange diets. Like one of the suggestions was a video of a woman(and her family)pretty much eat mouthing but meat.Eesh.I loves me a steak and I loves me a burger but eating meat 24/7?Yeah, no. See also:Atkins where you wat lots of meat and eggs and not a lot of veggies and fruit. If you’re healthy I think it’s fine.But I would never do one of those sort of diets(I have high cholesterol.. It goes without saying that you should talk to your doctor before starting a diet like that.I’m sure it works for a lot of people but I don’t think you’re meant to be on them for the long tern.

ChubbyEmu who is one of my favourite HeathTubers(and he’s an actual doctor) did a video about someone who was doing a fast and broke the fast with something like 10 pounds of bananas.Yes, you read that right. There is a person who advocates eating bananas in place of everything else.That can’t be good for you(as good for you as bananas are, eating a bunch of them is not going to lead to anything good.)

Then you have the people that do the keto/paleo etc. diets and you’re not entirely sure if they are doing it because it is “trendy” or if they honestly have issues(and there is the YouTuber that I watch that is on a keto/paleo/grain free diet..except when she isn’t(and that is quite often) and then complains when she feels the side effects

R. is a friend of Adnan Syed’s and, like a lot of people was THRILLED when he was released from prison. Because of the coverage of this story she probably has Google Alerts for anything related to the story, and I’m taking a chance mentioning her name lest I get a nasty gram from her but fuck it.

I only know the basics of the story, but I do know that Adnan sat in prison for many years for something that he didn’t do.

IMO she’s getting a bit petty now,saying that the CAIR(Council on Islamic American Relations) had nothing to do with Adnan being released and no help from Muslim groups whatsoever. That’s a bit unfair.(and wait until we get to the stuff about the Serial podcast…)

“Did Islamophobia keep Adnan in prison?” Her response?”It definitely helped”.
(And mind you, this was BEFORE September 11th.)

Then there’s the hating on the Serial podcast. There are many dimensions to why R.and others) don’t like the Serial podcast, chief among them being that it is always mentioned in the same breath with Adnan’s case.There are so many levels to it that it’s not even funny. I just took some basic notes and I was noticing all of her replies to people talking about it online, especially on Twitter.

Speaking of that, she needs to calm down..she doesn’t like all of the tweets and DMs she gets asking if Adnan has a girlfriend and volunteering to be his girlfriend.Girl, if it gets on your last nerve to that extent, block ‘em.

I got out of the house the other day-took a cab to Barnes & Noble and a few other places. One of them was Burlington Coat Factory(more than just coats!) and a place that sells appliances. I saw something I’d never seen before-a “shabbos” setting on a fridge. I guess if you’re observant this is something that is important.

Had an epic fro yo with several different flavors .With the weather being the way it’s been, as I said,it hit many different spots.

Sunday and Monday I went over to my parents’ house and got in their pool(I didn’t get my hair wet)and that cooled things down by quite a lot. Monday we had a barbecue with hot dogs and all of the trimmings!

*The new TV season starts in about 2 weeks and I am here for it. My DVR is going to get a workout but I generally watch whatever I record .

I am looking forwards to the usual shows but there are some new ones(Interview With The Vampire and Let The Right One In-both vampire shows and both starting next month-perfect)

It was this stuff you put in coffee. The side effects were pretty gnarly(this was a weight loss powder.)Yeah..no wonder you’re losing weight if you’re in the bathroom all the time.Sorry for the TMI there

*Trailer for a movie called Armageddon Time dropped. This is one that I am definitely going to see at the movie theatre. The cast(Anthony Hopkins for one!) is solid, and it’s a coming of age and set in the early 80’s I am so here for it.

Josh Duggar is going to prison for 12 and a half-almost 13 -years .I would have liked for him to get 20 years but it is what it is.He had no reaction when he was sentenced. That doesn’t surprise me at all.

Plus he’s going to [Office Space]Federal pound me in the ass prison(/Office Space] And 20 years of parole when he gets out .

NONE of the prisons that he is potentially going to go to are country club prisons.Kiddie fiddlers are NOT popular in prison either.It’s gonna be a rough 12 or so years for him..However, he needs to serve EVERY day of his sentence.None of this “time off for good behaviour” shit.

What’s even more awful is the fact that his family think he is innocent and that he is a “good person”. No he’s fucking not!He’s a fucking monster! he had kiddie p**n on his computer and he r***d family members, including his sisters. And they’re over there defending him in spite of it all. Horrifuckingfying. The one thing that I can hope for is that his wife gets out of the family, her in laws, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

She needs to get free of her in-laws and start over.Easier said than done of course.But I really do hope that it happens at some point.I don’t know how old her kids are and if they understand yet, but one thing that she needs to do is tell them that their father is NOT a nice person.That he hurt their aunts. Gaslighting,brainwashing, good lord. She needs to get the fuck away from her in-laws. Is it going to be easy for her?No! But she needs to do it. Telling her she NEEDS to do so isn’t going to work. Probably an inappropriate comparison but as with someone who is in addiction, she needs to hit bottom.Then, and only then will she wake up and get the fuck out of there.

I think I’ve talked about the fact that I would blank certain people I have worked with if I ran into them “In the wild”. I was serious about that fact. Didn’t think it would ever need to be put into practise but yesterday I did. And it was empowering. That word gets overused, but in that case, it was true.

For context,I was at the DMV getting a new ID..I saw her as I was leaving. She said “Hey!” But I just kept going.Did not even acknowledge her. I’ve done it once and will again. This person was such a terrible boss I was glad when I quit. Better for my mental health for one thing.Yeah, that bad. She’s one of two people I have written nasty letters to after I quit telling them how I felt about them.The first time I actually ran into my former boss and she was not nice to me.It was obvious that she had read the letter that i sent her. Everything I said in the letter were things that she needed to hear. Whether she took it to heart,I don’t know.But given her attitude when I ran into her awhile after I quit,I doubt it.

*Points at subject line* in the second case, which was the person I ran into yesterday,I know she hasn’t. She was a tyro when she was my boss and probably still is. Here’s the thing:She was in charge of an office of a certain local company with several local offices. They had a Facebook page, and when they were highlighting different offices, ours was the one that rarely, if ever got mentioned.That’s because she ran it into the ground with her mismanagement.

Recently though, they got folded into another, larger company. No word on whether that has helped matters. Mind you, it’s not just the office I worked at it was the whole company so there were issues at several levels.

I hate to say it but I think reality TV is played out. Yes, when it started it was revolutionary. Shows like The Real World were appointment TV, you didn’t miss them,EVER. I would say *peak* Real World was the first through 6th seasons.After that it went rapidly downhill(the Back To New York and Seattle seasons were especially low points IMO.) It was bringing people from different background together and helping them understand each other. The flip side of that was Seattle, where a cast member slapped someone and the producers looked the other way .The person that did the slap..all they had to do was a couple of anger management class and that was it.And understandably, there was an uproar about it. And my opinion of The Real World changed after that. There was a nastier tinge to it, which carried through to other reality shows like Bad Girls’ Club which literally had a fist fight(or near fist fight) on every episode.

You know what else is divisive?The Real Housewives franchise.Apparently there are all sorts of rumours about casting, people being hired and fired and multiple shows being put on hiatus for an indeterminate amount of time.I find this really interesting.The reasons for hiring/firing are interesting(and this is a show that has had more than a few cast members who have gone to jail/prison-and most of them are still on the show.There also are cast members who have had public freak-outs(Anyone who watched it at the time it aired will not forget Scary Island anytime soon). Ignorant behaviour is not OK either.And that’s gotten more than a few people fired(and has become a recurring thing recently again with RHONY and Dallas.)

Sometimes I wonder why some people(even though they are peripheral to the show, RHONJ* comes right to mind) are on the show and even when they aren’t or they started out so and became a “friend of”(*cough* Danielle Staub *cough*) That was a mind fuck in and of itself. Teresa became friends with her after everything that happened?(of course it was too good to last.)

Then you have RHOBH**. Oh my god is that show ever a hot mess. I have to say that I am with some of the cast members who don’t want to be around Erika because it reflects badly on them. Guilt by association.And it just gets more and more insane and..nobody is at all surprised by it. I’ve already said that Erika KNOWS/KNEW what was going on. Gets tipped off every time.It’s called “damage control”..A little late for that if you ask me. There is a fine line between trying to save your OWN ass and being a cold hearted bitch(yes I get it she can’t speak on much right now but at least some sort of acknowledgment of the stuff that happened with her ex husband .Obliquely.)

Today is Martin Luther King Day.It’s also 2 days before the inauguration. I wanted to try and talk about that, and also about what is going on the world.

First of all, what I have noticed as we get closer to the inauguration is that Trump swag(flags and the like) are increasingly becoming a no-no.It took a while(like more than a month after the election) that some of the biggest Trump stans are strangely silent. They don’t do much social media (because they silenced Trump because of his inciting the insurrection the other week... apparently that is the opposite of freedom of speech. Well, it isn’t free speech when you’re doing what Trump did and his minions felt like it was OK to do(most redundant sentence ever?Probably.)

The dislike of Biden comes from many things up to and including the fact that he is pro-choice is one of them. He can’t be a “true Catholic” if he is pro-choice,Bullshit! If that’s the criteria for being a bad Catholic..well,I don’t believe anymore but if I did I would for sure be a bad Catholic. Not only am I pro-choice but I am a LGBTQ supporter.That’s another thing that True Blue Catholics think is something that you can’t be for if you are a practising Catholic. Once again:Bullshit!

The bad-no, the worst -shit that has happened over the past 4 years:Trump has more than a little to do with it. Immigration. Race(they go hand in hand, really..) Have we always been perfect as a country when it comes to race? Two Words: Jim Crow. Martin Luther King did so much to advance civil rights in this country and Trump came in and fucked it all over. In another word:Karens/Beckys.

Just like when we’ve come out of previous shitty administrations there is going to be an adjustment period for sure.
