Joyspun pajamas, the store brand for Walmart(Yeah yeah I know). One reason that I like them so much is that they are inexpensive(under 10 dollars!)and they have pockets!

Winco.Their prices are so much better than Vons or even Stater Brothers.I like Target on occasion but their grocery section is small compared to elsewhere(even Walmart has an amazing selection compared to Walmart.)

Thing is, there are things I can get at Walmart that I can’t get at Vons or vice versa. And Winco is really good for certain things(they have bulk food.If you want a ton of oats,Winco ‘s got you.)They also have much better prices on things that I buy with frequency(like frozen pizza-DiGiorno-my frozen pizza of choice -is WAY cheaper there than elsewhere).I’ve been going between Vons,Stater Brothers and Winco. They each have their pluses and minuses but since I can go to Winco and buy a cart full of food and not break the bank-that is a good thing!

My sister-in-law got a new dog! A American Cocker Spaniel named Biscuit! I have seen several pictures of him and he is ADORABLE!

People who know me are well aware of the fact that I am a dog person.Always have been. Being around dogs from a young age and being the early reader that I was pored over the dog book at my grandparents’ house so now am a repository of useless knowledge about dogs.My dad, seeing a French Bulldog for the first time years ago wanted to know everything about them.

My sister-in-law’s previous dog was a Frenchie. At the time that my dad was asking me about Frenchies Pugs were the popular breed which led to some of the same issues(over breeding to be specific ) that Frenchies now have.

Baggalini Soho bag.

Pros:Not too big/small.
Lots of capacity/
Not too heavy even when there’s a lot in it
Option to use it as a backpack(LOVE this!)

Cons:

Yesterday we got actual weather and I was here for it! Very overcast and rainy and right before my dinner was ready there was a flash of lightning and an almighty thunder clap!Just the one but I’ll take it!

When the weather’s like this I know my dad likes it because he  grew up back East(and several points in-between!) ..it’s his thing. California  weather is usually so nice but once in a great while we get a rainy day or two and..it is glorious!

My new pots and pans

Stater Brothers(I was a Vons gal for years but now I am team Staters..)true, they do not have a club card but I love the way the store is set up and I’m spending less money(though I spent a lot last time because I was getting some essentials like toilet paper and paper towels.)

Homemade Rice Krispie Treats.

Bath Bombs.Mom/ Santa got me a bunch of them from Costco and I have been saving them for rainy days..well..we have been having a lot of those! Getting through ‘em to the point where I put more on my Amazon wish list.

I have been LOVING iced tea. Can’t get enough of it-I bought some Red Zinger-type tea and really like that and the other day I bought some raspberry iced tea and peach iced tea.

What I like to do is put the tea in my big sipper bottle.Very refreshing!

I have been enjoying it.Quite possibly the understatement of the year!

So enjoy getting up every morning and having the Nespresso to look forwards to.

I’ve been trying the samples they give you with the machine and there are some clear favourites emerging, ones that I will be buying again when I run out which won’t be for a while yet.

It’s MUCH quieter than my Keurig(which as I have said sounded like a plane taking off when it was brewing coffee.)

More expensive?Yeah. And you have to buy the capsules at the Nespresso store or online. But to me that is a minor thing.

White Barn candles from Bath And Body Works.I am currently burning a Cozy Cashmere candle which(to me) smells like baby powder though the scents are lavender, vanilla and sandalwood.

Every time I go to Bath And Body Works I have to smell all of the candles that they have especially this time of year when they have the fall/winter candles. The last time I was there I bought two Christmas-y candles(one of them is Balsam which is going to make everything smell like a Christmas tree(one of my favourite scents!)

Oat Milk. Yes, I know I’ve talked about oat milk before but I LOVE Trader Joe’s oat milk specifically ..I don’t really think there is much difference between brands but I like Trader Joe’s best because it actually tastes like milk. I have put it on cereal even.

My pet peeve is people who have NO tastebuds. They don’t like anything that is different-yeah,to each his her own ,but some take it to a level that has me smh.

The new show Transplant on NBC.Yeah,I know,NBC. But it is really good. Have medical dramas been done before?Yes, with varying degrees of success-I even liked the marginal ones like Miami Medical which aired on CBS(albeit briefly..) and the crap ones(Medicine Ball which suffered the ignominy of being on around the same time as ER and Chicago Hope.It was a crowded playing field.

Medicine Ball’s problem was that it was inferior to the other shows on the air at the time.Supposedly it had gone into production before ER and Chicago Hope..apparently they weren’t working on crafting a good show.

Transplant doesn’t have that problem though. Will definitely be watching every week,

My Lug taxi tote bag.

Bit of backstory:I have a ton of purses and backpacks.I like each one for different reasons. But lately I have been looking for a good bag with lots of places to put all of the stuff that I take with me wherever I go. Sure, the bags I have are good but they have their issues.Like one bag doesn’t zip closed and that can be a problem when there is inclement weather.

Another issue is with backpacks:I tend to overpack them.I try to pack light and.. yeah. That doesn’t happen.Much.

Fast forward to me looking on Amazon and finding what I think is the perfect bag for me.

I’ve had the Taxi tote bag for just about a whole day already and..I love it.And I think it is going to replace all of the other bags that I have.

Because it has TONS of places to put all of the stuff that I take with me.There are pockets aplenty and they even have a carabiner in one of the pockets to hold your keys.LOVE. IT!

TL:DR I am going to have my on the go stuff ORGANISED and not overpack.Definitely a good thing!

1) Our discoverers’ sense of humour:They named one of the lagoons Agua Hedionda- dirty water-apparently they experienced the red tide that we’ve been dealing with the last few weeks!

2)The trailer for The Good Lord Bird.Love it-definitely a mood but we have to wait ‘till August for it. Worth the wait,IMO.

3)Getting up early and getting shit done!

The Knorpp and South channel on YouTube! They are a large family who travel all over(one of their recent trips was to Peru). When they travel they do the Air B&B thing. That’s got to be interesting-but they always find someplace to stay so there are obviously a lot of houses that suit their needs.

It’s fun to go to all of the places that they go to-virtually.

The Knorpps are Mormons and recently there was a video about one of their sons getting his assignment for his mission(to Montreal-the Knorpps live in North Carolina-you couldn’t get two more different places though it must be said that another son who is on his mission(in Japan!) is coming home-probably is home at this point)

I’m not Mormon but I liked seeing their son Daniel open his letter telling him where he is going for his mission-I was excited for him.

The Mormons have a lot of things they do that I like(I remember going to my friend’s house-she lived right across the street) for dinner and at least once I was there on a Family Home Evening which is where Mormon families read scripture, play games and just spend time with each other. It varies from family to family as to what they do, but it’s a whole evening of family time.

My best friend who was Mormon..they followed The Word Of Wisdom(the rules of the church-no coffee, alcohol, etc.) but her dad was not adverse to having fun-most memorably taking us to the late show at the movies-Fantasia! I still remember that after all these years and I was pretty young at the time! By the time he dropped me off home my parents were freaking out, nearly about to call the po po and here I am “Mom, dad, chill out!”
