roaming_kate23R. is a friend of Adnan Syed’s and, like a lot of people was THRILLED when he was released from prison. Because of the coverage of this story she probably has Google Alerts for anything related to the story, and I’m taking a chance mentioning her name lest I get a nasty gram from her but fuck it.
I only know the basics of the story, but I do know that Adnan sat in prison for many years for something that he didn’t do.
IMO she’s getting a bit petty now,saying that the CAIR(Council on Islamic American Relations) had nothing to do with Adnan being released and no help from Muslim groups whatsoever. That’s a bit unfair.(and wait until we get to the stuff about the Serial podcast…)
“Did Islamophobia keep Adnan in prison?” Her response?”It definitely helped”.
(And mind you, this was BEFORE September 11th.)
Then there’s the hating on the Serial podcast. There are many dimensions to why R.and others) don’t like the Serial podcast, chief among them being that it is always mentioned in the same breath with Adnan’s case.There are so many levels to it that it’s not even funny. I just took some basic notes and I was noticing all of her replies to people talking about it online, especially on Twitter.
Speaking of that, she needs to calm down..she doesn’t like all of the tweets and DMs she gets asking if Adnan has a girlfriend and volunteering to be his girlfriend.Girl, if it gets on your last nerve to that extent, block ‘em.
