roaming_kate23The band who gloms onto the success of another because of some sort of connection.Back in the 1990’s/2000’s there was a band who were named after someone who worked for Duran Duran.Also,one of the band members was dating a member of Duran Duran.
No idea how it happened(pretty sure there was some arm twisting involved) but they wound up opening for Duran Duran on one of their tours.At the time, I think I was the only one calling out the weirdness of this situation.
The gal who was dating one of the band members was weird.I seem too recall her posting on a Duran Duran discussion list under an assumed name and defending how shitty the band she was in was.
