I keep getting ads for something called Javy.It is cold brew concentrate

A few marks against it:They are glass bottles(one of the videos I saw about it mentions that a bottle got broken in their warehouse;I wonder how often that happens.

I love my Nespresso coffee maker but I have to say:I am intrigued.Apparently you can make it hot as well(use hot water instead of cold.).I can see the appeal in the summer when hor coffee might not sound like the best idea;however my coffee is usually gone and drank by the hottest part of the day(or what passes for it here.) There are flavours, too(I use flavoured creamer in my coffee. Problem is is that the caffeine level is lower than, say, what I drink(fun fact:Light roast coffee actually has MORE caffeine than dark roast.I think that that is fairly common knowledge but I had to mention it for context.)

I have had my Nespresso coffee maker for over 2 years and I love it.It’s how I wake up in the morning.Literally.

There are some coffee makers that are more bougie than the one I have(the MoccaMaster comes right to mind.However.I like the fact that the Nespresso is all ready to go and measured out for me.I don’t trust myself not to be able to measure out the coffee correctly .Don’t want the coffee to be too strong or too weak,I take my coffee seriously!

And I’m gonna qualify that a bit right now.

There are not a lot of coffees(one) that I have tried that I didn’t like. The one that I didn’t like(and I drank all of it even so) was the ginger bread flavour which they had at Christmastime.

Truth be known,I resisted trying any of the Nespresso flavoured coffee for quite a long time but when I did I was pleasantly surprised. The best ones?Hazelnut(you have to like the whole Nutella thing),vanilla, caramel and the most surprisingly, pumpkin spice(which my mom also liked and she is NOT a fan of flavoured coffee so when it’s available again I will definitely be buying it.)

In the year and a half that I have had my Nespresso manchineel I have definitely have my favourites. The lady at the Nespresso boutique asked me what kind of coffee I liked(the stronger the better) and she had plenty of recommendations for me. But if something becomes available that I think I might like I am going to try that, too!

I just ordered a bunch of coffee from Nespresso and I ordered a sleeve of the Vanilla Custard Pie.So here’s the thing about that: it’s half caff but you wouldn’t know it. Interestingly, when you watch videos about the best Nespresso capsules, it consistently is mentioned as a favourite.

Conversely I hear mixed reviews on the other flavoured coffee..though it must be said that this time of year people are getting excited about the Pumpkin Spice.I’d probably only take Pumpkin Spice if it was offered as a sample with another fall flavour. Another thing:At Christmas they have coffee advent calendars with different types of coffee in them and they may have a couple different versions. One downside is that they have at least one(maybe more) decaf capsules. OTOH it might be nice to have decaf capsules when my parents come over. They had a decaf espresso that my parents were amazed was decaf -it was VERY strong for decaf!

My mom pointed out that it’s paid for itself several times over..the initial investment, along with a bunch of capsules, means that I don’t have to go to a local coffee shop and spend too much on coffee!

I keep getting ads on Facebook for off brand (independently made) Nespresso pods.Only problem is that they are for the original machine(mine is the Vertuo). Great, call me when you have less expensive cups for *my* machine.

They claim that their pods are compostable as compared to what I have.Thing is, you can recycle my pods when you save up enough of them(which I have done already.Twice.) Not everyone can compost,or wants to. The fact that you can send them back and they make things out of the aluminum (and occasionally have them as giveaways when you buy something from the Nespresso website or at their stores).

As far as price points go?They’re about the same. Plus they don’t do free shipping if you buy a certain amount of coffee the way Nespresso does. Is Nespresso spendy?Oh yeah, but it’s a monthly expense which I don’t mind having.

Yeah..I love my Nespresso. Yes, I know that they are still doing buisness in Russia. If I tried to boycott every company/ thing that is still in Russia I would pretty much only have to buy store brands. Not a huge deal but there are certain things you can’t get in store brand form.

LOVE the fact that you can order coffee easily and have it sent to your house. Is it expensive?Yeah. Here’s the thing though:It’s offset by free shipping if you order more than $35 worth of coffee(which is not hard to do).For now.I’m good.Gonna be a while before I buy more coffee.

One of the things I enjoy is the variety of coffee-I try to change things up every day so that I don’t get bored(though I doubt *that* is going to happen soon.) Precisely the reason that they give you a sampler pack of coffee when you buy a Nespresso coffee maker.

(Side bar:If you buy your Nespresso from a Nespresso boutique and tell them what kind of coffee you like(dark roast, light roast, flavoured coffee) they can point you to which kinds of coffee you might like.A big reason why going to a boutique is a good idea although they’re not everywhere.San Diego has two, one is at UTC and the other is inside of a department store at Fashion Valley(another local mall)

Also worth doing-and I mentioned this before-as you try the samples, write them down and note the ones that you like. That’s been tremendously instructional. I definitely have favourites that I will be buying again.

I had been waiting on a delivery from Amazon and for some reason it got delayed. This is the first time there has been any sort of issue.Usually they are hella prompt and Amazon Prime will get it to you quick. Not so much in this case. Not sure if it was on the publishers end but it said that the tracking had changed.WTF??(it did show up yesterday, in case you were curious.)

Compare that to Nespresso:I ordered more coffee(yes, I know I *swear* I won’t order more for a while now) on Saturday and it got here yesterday.EARLY! I checked the website to see if it had been delivered and it had. Colour me amazed. That right there is why I love Nespresso’s website. They are ON.IT. And when it comes to coffee, that’s important!
