roaming_kate23We have a new Pope,Pope Leo the 14th. Formerly Robert Prevost of Chicago. He is 69 years old(will be 70 in September so quite a bit younger than Francis when he was elected.) He is the first American Pope.
So! I had a feeling that we might have a Pope today.I predicted we would have a new Pope by the weekend and I was right!Watched TV most of the morning and I was in the other room and all of a sudden I heard a roar and..white smoke! I had quite the reaction,to the point where my neighbour knocked on my door to ask me if I was OK! And I was emotional.Tears, but they were happy tears.Watching YouTube videos a little while ago got me all emotional all over again!
*definitely* am glad that I watched Conclave last weekend.
My feeling is that he is another Francis.That he likes to be among the people.The only thing that he is a stickler on is women being priests.That’s never going to happen and not a hill that I feel like dying on, as much of a feminist as I am.
Look, it took two days for them to elect a new Pope.They don’t elect a Pope that quickly unless they have had some conversations amongst themselves.Interestingly a lot of the cardinals were appointed by Francis. So lots of like minds.
I have a TM post but it’s gonna take me a few days. Gotta just take in the positivity ..hell possibility ,of our new Pope!
