Did you know that getting bitten by certain types of ticks can cause you to have an allergy to red meat?True! It’s called Alpha Gal syndrome and comes from being bit(multiple times) by ticks.

I learned about this by watching a video of Dr, Mike’s on YouTube (if you haven’t watched his videos you should .They are very funny and very insightful and oh yeah..he’s a dog person!

Mike has personal experience-a patient on the plane he was on had this-fortunately,ultimately the patient was OK and got to thank Dr. Mike in person a few days later.

The scary thing is that the patient did not have an epi pen on them and there wasn’t one on the plane but there was an epinephrine injection(bigger needle and more painful.)Plus the amount was different.

I was curious and looked ;the most common allergies?
Eggs/milk

Shellfish(my aunt has a BAD reaction to shellfish)

Peanuts/tree nuts/sesame

Wheat

Soybeans

 Did you know that the Barnes And Noble at the Grove in L.A. is  their  biggest store in California?True story!

*points at subject line*. It is one of the best Barnes And Noble stores that I have been to(and I have been there several times!) This is going to be partly fact throwing, partly travel, warning you right now.

The Grove is right next door to the Original Farmer’s Market(also?one of the best  Cost Plus World Markets I have ever been to is there right in between the Farmer’s Market and The Grove.) LOVE the Farmer’s Market…the last time I was there I had dinner at the seafood place (a large bowl of clam chowder in case you were wondering.) One of my favourite places there is DuPar’s(their French Dip sandwich is 💯) It’s the sort of place that you could get lost in.If you’re there with other people arrange a meeting spot.You’ll be glad you did!

Two of the times that I have been to the Farmer’s Market it was for birthday related things.The time before that we’re went  it was during Mardi Gras so they had multiple zydeco bands playing -it was a whole vibe!

Dr. Pepper is owned by Keurig .I did not know that until very recently. It explains my love of both of those things!

My preferred soda(if I have a choice) is Dr. Pepper but Sprite/7UP is OK too.

Potatoes, eggplant bell pepper and tobacco(and tomatoes-maybe that Tomacco on the Simpsons wasn’t SO far off, LOL) bare all related.

Cashews are related to poison ivy-that’s common knowledge but that’s one that made me go “wow!” when I found out.

Also related are(deep breath)Mint,basil,rosemary and lavender.That sounds like some good flavouring right there!
