[Raising conclave awareness]

roaming_kate23Watched Conclave last night.I LOVED it..No idea how accurate it is to real life(there absolutely have been some liberties taken.)
They had the archetypes-Stanley Tucci’s Cardinal Bellini who did not want to be Pope, John Lithgow’s Cardinal Tremblay who is as crooked as the day is long, Nigerian Cardinal Ayemi who had a stumble many years ago and is never going to hear the end of it, Cardinal Tedesco(TM would LOVE him!) and Cardinal Benitez, who is from Mexico but was stationed in Kabul.Oh and Ralph Fiennes’ Cardinal Thomas Lawrence who is in charge of the conclave.
There is a political side to all of this, and this is about where I’m going to put everything under a cut
Saying that some of these cardinals are the lesser of two evils is putting it mildly. Things get revealed-and revealed again. TL:DR? Tedesco is the worst of them..but after a speech from Lawrence it goes in a surprising direction.
(the final reveal-that Benitez-who was elected Pope and chose the name Innocent-was born with a uterus and ovaries. He considered having a hysterectomy but, as he says to Lawrence, “I am as God made me”. YES. )I found that very profound.)
