roaming_kate23I have been watching Jewish Matchmaking and it is a whole education. I am learning about things that I never knew before(and I know a lot but I don’t know everything but as you know I love to do deep dives and learn even more.
Shomer Negiah which is the practise of not touching before marriage.This is more common in Orthodox communities(the sidduch -or matchmaker-is Orthodox)I knew about the not touching thing-I watched a movie where touching a Orthodox rabbi-and it wasn’t his wife-was a HUGE no no.)
*Tikkun Olam which is the practise of repairing the word-to was Ghandi’s “Be the change you see in the world” before it was cool.
*Bashert which is the concept of a soulmate.That would be my parents.They’re not Jewish but if anyone embodies the idea of bashert it is my parents.
