[Seattle be the day]
Jul. 23rd, 2021 11:09 am*Alaska cruises are starting from Seattle. Of course there are other cruise lines leaving out of there as well so it’s like the west coast version of the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale sailaways. HAL ships are the best(of course) but everyone else is “ugly”. Why am I not surprised?
*Throw blankets are a no-no. OK, the person that asked about that gets the message. There is literally NO reason for the pile-on.(As I have said MANY times, there IS such a thing as a stupid question and unpopular opinions(especially when it comes to things like dress codes..though admittedly some of those people quite posting(died?) a while ago.The example I always point to is the person who said it was a no-no to wear shorts anywhere on the ship except for ones’ cabin. I reported that post and it was yanked.I thought it was aggro. And no, he was NOT trolling. I fucking wish that he was!
*HAL vs. Celebrity
I don’t really have a dog in this fight because I’m not cruising anymore but I would have been open to trying another cruise line. We(my parents and I) tried a short cruise on a Princess ship..I will say this over and over again:Princess’ coffee is TERRIBLE. HAL’s is good, and strong. I’m ready to go after 2 cups of HAL coffee. HAL gets razzed for quieting down too early and whilst that’s true on the older ships, it’s less so on ships like the Koningsdam.
*Possible sixth star?(5 star members have TONS of days on HAL but apparently-even after the pandemic-there are people who’re going to cruise enough that they feel like they should have a whole new category for them.I can just imagine the snobbery that is going to come from that. Apparently someone who should have did NOT get invited to one of the higher level events on board and raised quite a stink about it.Apparently this happened quite a while ago but something similar happened within the last couple of years.I wonder if that is what they are referring to but they’re trying to protect that person a bit. If it’s who I’m thinking of, they are set off very easily(that’s putting it mildly..)
