roaming_kate23*I feel so sorry for the crew on the HAL ships having to deal with demanding passengers who do NOT understand that a cruise that is starting after there not having cruises for over a year. There are a few people who try to point that out but they get shouted down(and I’ll talk about that a little bit later on in the post..) Seth Wayne was the only person who was representing HAL..they were no doubt harassing him-not that he can do anything since he is ONLY an ambassador(and one of the people who was “In the know” and who used to work for HAL no longer works for HAL. There are a few others who like to think that they are insiders because they have gone on so many Holland America cruises. That is not a qualifier for being an expert on jack shit.
(Hurt Hands was actually the one who was asking about the person I mentioned(who used to work for HAL) She doesn’t post as much as she used to..her word salad posts are impossible to read(and that’s me being nice!)
There is another cruise starting today and someone is going to be reporting on it-maybe they will not be as obnoxious as the person on the first cruise. This is a developing story for sure.
*Thread about Koningsdam and there were a few positive posts as well as the usual pile on about the style of the ship. No amount of comments along the line of “The old HAL is gone” is gonna shut them up.I mean,I don’t think the style of the older ships is oppressively dated(though I never went on any of the ships that have been sold which had been with HAL for the best part of 30 years ) Also, to some people the rooms on the kDam are small for some people.I didn’t think that at all-IMO it was quite spacious, as was the shower.)
*Portly Princess misses the piano bars. Like a lot of other things(the dress code for one) it is a relic of another time. They now have Billboard Live which is so much better. Portly Princess misses a lot of things that they had on the “old” HAL. That’s how long she has been sailing with HAL.
