(OR:The most ridiculous reason I have heard yet as to why HAL is superior to all other cruise lines.Wow.That’s a whole lotta hubris, chutzpah, whateverthefuck you want to call it to say THAT is the reason that HAL is so much better than everyone else? HAL has had its fair share of issues-just look at recent events for proof of that-
NO.CRUISE LINE.IS.PERFECT.
Then though it becomes all about how HAL is superior because of this that and the other thing.Other ships are “inferior” because of their design, or as HAL diehards like to put it “design flaws”.To also hear them tell it the newer ships(Koningsdam especially)they’re just one floating design flaw.Holland America wants to change with the times(and good for them for doing so).However in doing so they are going to piss off the diehards who long for the “good old days of cruising” which are long gone.I blame Downtown Abbey and Titanic for some peoples’ needs to stay stuck in the past.Attitudes about lots of things(including dress codes) have changed ,too. There isn’t a class system anymore either, though the people who book suites every time have to make sure that everyone knows it.)

(I love Holland America too.But I have looked at other cruise lines and quite frankly, the prices on one of the cruises I was looking at was quite a bit cheaper than the HAL one PLUS it went to all of the places that I wanted to go to.Unfortunately I got vetoed, but the upside of that was that I got to go on the Koningsdam. Unlike the people who go in with preconceived notions(Looking at YOU,Portly Princess),I had an open mind and,well, it was a LOT of fun.I made a lot of new friends(but I’m a social person so that is going to happen no matter what. Portly Princess is one of the diehards and has been for a while. She was thinking about going on a cruise on the Koningsdam with Rev. Douche bag for about 2 seconds and then reconsidered.Her call,I suppose.I didn’t hear much from Rev. Douchebag whilst he was on the ship so he must nor have liked it very much. )
