roaming_kate23*People are still cruising.Just not to the-how shall we say-problem spots.And buying shit tons of travel insurance,obviously.
*FINALLY Tammy listened to the people that said the font that she uses is too difficult to read.And didn’t freak out and act like she was being personally attacked.Given how Tammy has been in the past, this really is a pleasant surprise.
*Cruise Critic meet and greets:
CC meet and greets have been lackluster for a while.I don’t know but with all of the cranks pinning down the staff and hassling them
(Among other things. Known fact:HAL knows who people are.They think they’re anonymous when they post on Cruise Critic..but some of them, including Portly Princess, have a picture of themselves as their avatar.So no, not anonymous at.all.
Secondly, HAL reads the boards.They see what is said, good bad or otherwise.But mostly bad because there are a few diehards that love to vent their spleen on the HAL boards every chance they get.)
*Formal night stuff(of one kind and another):
No announcement of when formal nights are going to be
(Really?)
Some people like the days of old
(Mind you, there aren’t as many of those people..they’re just really obnoxious with their opinion)
Late seating(for dinner) is the most formal
(What is the big deal with eating late at night.I really don’t understand.I’m always right there when the MDR opens.Getting in touch with my inner senior citizen I guess.)
There is no “ball” or special event
(They do have special events ..I remember Mary Louise talking about going to a couple of them but she is one of those people that goes as formal as possible.)
*HAL coffee vs. Princess coffee:
Koningsdam coffee was vile
(Heartily disagree.Princess’ coffee is terrible.Watery crap, however I did not try the coffee at their equivalent of the Crow’s Nest, which has twice what the Crow’s Nest on HAL ships have.The thing that the Princess ships doesn’t have with their version is a view.It’s a main area of the ship, a great place to meet up. Another point in Princess’ favour is that they have a lot of places to hang out, and it’s not like a ghost town early(that was not the case with the Koningsdam because they have BB King’s,Rolling Stone Rock Room and Billboard Live. And the Princess ship we were on..I liked the room but they had an old school TV! Also,I wish it was possible to figure out where your room is relative to the nightclubs on board.) Wow.That got a little ranty,lol.
