*My friend and I went out to one of the casinos and did a pre-birthday fun day(the buffet and some light gambling)On Saturday my parents and I are going to Santa Monica and Venice for the day and my actual birthday is on Sunday!
Because I was curious I looked on the Old Globe’s website to see if they had announced what Shakespeare plays they are doing this summer(Henry V and The Taming Of The Shrew, for the record.)I don’t believe that I’ve seen Henry V but I *have* seen the Taming Of The Shrew.
The Old Globe does their Shakespeare plays in a different setting every time(I’ve seen The Taming Of The Shrew that had a Wild West theme.Usually at least one of the plays is set in the actual setting of Shakespeare’s time.So you never know what you’re going to get but I think I can name on one hand the Shakespeare plays I’ve seen that I *didn’t like on one hand.Always a class act and they get some name actors and actresses too(one year they had Rutina Wesley who was on Hannibal at the time..and the day that I was to see it she wasn’t there-they had an understudy.Still good, though!
*Lent starts next week(and I’ll do a post about that Wednesday-Ash Wednesday-fun fact:I have never gone to church to get ashes. And I’m almost 49 years old!(speaking of things I can count on both hands: going to confession.) I am giving up potatoes and chocolate.Hoping(as always) that I can lose some weight because of it.
I admire people that can(mostly) do the digital detox thing where they only allow themselves an hour online a day.I can’t do that.
*A bunch of old school movies were trending on Twitter. As was “what movie scarred you for life”.Ah.That explains it! The list of movies made me think that they were all getting remade and I know for a fact that at least one of the movies has been remade *already*.
