roaming_kate23Watching the first 10 minutes of the Angel Studios Homestead movie(a dirty bomb is detonated in the ocean off of L.A.). I notice different things every time I watch it. The treason I watch it with such interest is because I lived through the coldest part of the Cold War and I remember The Day After and how that could have been real life.It was a very real fear.
Weirdly, when the bomb is detonated:
1)certain things(cars for one thing) still work.The power is out though.
2)The sky is orange in one scene with one family(and the dad is working downtown(?) whilst the rest of the family are in Calabassas. That’s pretty far inland.)
And yet in another scene with a different family the skies are clear(though *is* it supposed to be in L.A.?because the other family they show prominently seem like they also live in L.A. But not as close to the blast.
Of course the bomb is detonated on a boat so you know anyone nearby was freaking GONE instantly.
