1)How far back can you trace your family tree?
Apparently there is some royalty in our family;not anyone people would know.
I’m adopted, and I did the Ancestry thing.I found out that I have a LOT of West African blood(Ghana and Nigeria specifically -I am an honest to god African-American.) Going back many generations.I was able to figure out that with a pretty good possibility (like 100 percent)that I am descended from slaves.
2)What is the most interesting(or strange?thing you’ve heard about one of your relatives?
So a relative of mine is Joseph Hooker who was a general in the Civil War(on the Union side.) Supposedly he liked..ladies of the evening and they started being called “Hooker’s Women” or hookers. But calling women hookers predates Hooker by many years.
3)How do you feel about legacy names like John Henry Smith IV oil naming children after relatives?
There’s a lot of that in our family! My older brother was born on our grandfather’s birthday so of course they had to give him the same name.
4)Would you consider yourself and/or your family to be traditional?
Not really.
5)What is one tradition that you have passed on to your children and/or plan to pass on to them?
No kids;maybe somewhat with my nieces and nephews.
