Yes, I got up early and watched the Coronation, and it was amazing. And pissed all of the people you would expect off(but more about that tomorrow!)
How many times in your life are you going to be able to say you watched a coronation?Once, probably. No way I was going to miss this, absolutely and yeah it was well worth walking up early! All of the times I’ve pulled all nighters(save one or two) have been Royal Family related. And I would do it again(not sure what the next occasion would be though!)
King Charles wanted the ceremony to have a lot of meaning and be a ceremony that was wide reaching(he had the British PM, Rishi Sunak, who is Hindu, did one of the readings! There were many acknowledgments of the Commonwealth which was his doing and also a pared down version of the Coronation which is not just because of the crisis in the UK but also because he is a environmentalist.
I went to Shakespeare’s Corner Shoppe on India Street-as far as I know the only British store in all of San Diego-there used to be a lot of them but they’ve all closed-the one closest to me moved too far away and the British Food Store..I didn’t like to give them my money but sometimes when you get a feen for British. Snacks you have to act on it.Except their shelves were always a bit bare and they were so rude. That was a turn off and there was a lady who worked in there who was rude to the school kids who would come in from the local schools.
