roaming_kate23This morning on NPR they were talking about going vegetarian or trying to do so at least part time for any number of reasons. This is triggering to me and let me explain why:
On one of the message boards I used to post on I said that I was thinking about trying vegetarianism .These were the days when there weren’t as many options as there are now .One of the posters on the board lost her shit and flipped out.She was annoyed by me wanting to “try it out”. Uh..ok? This was the same person who talked about making gut buster meals with lots of butter,cheese and cream .Not healthy in the least and. this was something that she made a LOT.
This isn’t uncommon for vegetarians to do-to each their own- but in this case I think this person was having a series of bad days and was looking for someone to take it out on and I happened to make the wrong comment on the wrong day.Worst part was the wasn’t even a bit sorry for her tantrum. I remember that much and telling her so which got me kicked off the board.Eh, no big loss.
So you’re wondering what this could relate to?I have been watching Bobby Parrish’s videos and IMO he is encouraging disordered eating..to say nothing of the fact that he always shops at places like Whole Foods(there is a reason that they call it Whole Paycheck) the constant carping about certain “bad” ingredients.And well that may be.But not all of his followers can afford the upkeep of the Bobby lifestyle, with all of the supplements and the $20 jars of bone broth(fair enough you CAN make it yourself but he seems to prefer to pay too much for it at Whole Paycheck)
There are places where you can get some of the same stuff, and at half the price(but they probably aren’t “Bobby Approved”. It’s also amazing to me, for someone who doesn’t like fake stuff, the way he promotes certain sugar substitutes-whilst *admitting * that they can cause you to have stomach issues.I know all about that from firsthand experience.
