Stay on ship or do Half Moon Cay?
(Definitely go to Half Moon Cay, if you get the chance!)
Here’s my thing with Half Moon Cay:Beach Day. It is the best thing ever.If I had to chance to stay there overnight, you know I would!
The stars have aligned every time that we’ve had the chance to go there(it can be iffy because of the fact that it is a tender port; there was talk for a while that there was going to be a pier but that’s not happening. The tender ride over to Half Moon Bay-especially if the water is a bit choppy-can be quite the adventure!)
The weather may dictate your plans.
(Like I said: we haven’t missed but there are plenty of people who have; see also:Cozumel which we missed because the weather was bad and also because it is a tricky harbour to get into.)I take missing/replacement ports in stride-I LOVED Crete(we were supposed to go to Santorini-weather related-and St. Tropez(ditto). Both of those were easy to get around and you could see everything in a couple of hours.
We don’t care for the Half Moon Cay lunch.
(It’s basic, but delicious, especially after you’ve been swimming for a while and worked up an appetite!)
Nice to have a light lunch if desired .
(I usually get a few things and that is satisfying to me!)
Beaches come and go.
(This is a reference to the fact that Half Moon Cay has gotten a direct hit from hurricanes-several times- over the years and done some damage .
(Definitely go to Half Moon Cay, if you get the chance!)
