Because I am agreeing with Portly Princess.Mark this day because it probably won’t happen again.
Portly(responding to someone who was upset about not boarding the ship right in Venice):
You find a dark cloud for every silver lining .Be patient.
(EXACTLY. There has been some adjustments needed, on a number of levels, and that’s still true. What is also true is that we have had two years of this.)
The Beer virus isn’t all of it, though; they are trying to protect Venice; between the high water that they get and all of the tourists(not just ones who visit on cruise ships). If you REALLY want to visit Venice, do a land tour and just go for a few days. Going in the off season might not be a bad idea either . Biggest issue that people have with the change in ports(Trieste which is some distance away from Venice.) and not getting that info in a timely fashion. Of course, that gets blamed on the suits in Seattle. Thank god Orlando Ashford is not the CEO anymore; they would be having a go at him. They still do.
One comment that I saw is something that is quite common when the crew are “too slow” in getting information out:
You make it sound as if lots of people are in a tizzy.
(Like when they have to miss a port..many is the time I have seen claims that “a lot” of people were upset because they missed a port. You books your cruise, you takes your chances. Luckily, in all of the times I cruised it didn’t happen very often-maybe twice. That’s a pretty good average(see also:never got Norovirus but was always hyper aware of it on every cruise I was on.)
There are a lot of variables;some ports are very tricky to get into;there is also weather to take into consideration- and a combo of both of those things-which can happen. Y’all ought to be glad that the captain is looking out for your safety, most of all.
*Passover reference!
