I’m not sure how I feel about her dying.She could be very polarising , and some of her books were better than others(I really liked the first couple of Vampire books..everything else a little less so but they did have a sort of historical bent to them(before it was cool, it must be said.)

She could be a contradiction-she came back to her childhood religion as an adult and wrote a really interesting book on the subject.There are definitely elements of religion in her books(I wonder if that’s why she got along well with Bryan Fuller-Bryan’s Catholicism was *all over* Hannibal at times!

Also, she was not a fan of fan fiction of her work. I can kinda understand that, actually.Anne may not have expressed in a way that was appropriate but..I will just say this:There is GOOD fanfic(the vast majority of it) and there’s some godawful stuff.

I absolutely adored the earliest and latest of the Vampire Chronicles... a little meh about the middle ones. But Lestat remained the damndest creature of my heart. And like many people in my era of fandom, was the proud owner of a C&D letter from her lawyers for my utterly shitty teenage fanfic LOL

My heart is broken at her passing.
