[They just like to be waited on.]
Oct. 27th, 2021 08:55 pm*Lots of complaining about the food on the ships especially on Gala night.People just do not understand that there are supply chain issues. There was some wondering what the fridges of the people who complain about the food all of the time.At least one person admitted that they go out to eat frequently.Portly Princess for example is without a doubt on a first name basis with all of the food delivery people who come to her house(more than a few times a week, too.)
Part of the problem is that if you have been cruising with Holland America for a while, you have come to expect certain things of them, and high quality when it comes to food is but one thing(we won’t even get into dress codes and how much HAL has changed(and not in a good way, either) so when HAL does drop the ball or has issues, that is when they go to Cruise Critic and complain to anyone who will listen.
*Back in the day when you would go on a cruise you would get a documents folder for all of the info that you needed. But they went away. Now, if you ask some of the diehards, they will claim that that was something that the management did because they don’t give a shit about their longtime customers(this is something that they have been saying for a long time though. Well, HAL, unlike say, Cunard, modernised .There’s a market for the “old school” way of cruising and if they want that(and can afford it) then it’s there. But quit trying to make HAL into Cunard 2.0. The fact that HAL is going for a much more modern looks with their newer ships says a lot-that are looking forwards, not backwards. of course, the diehards want HAL to say the same and never change and never sell any of their old ships even those those older ships need repair which HAL doesn’t want to do because they are in such bad shape and they know that anything that they do is just going to be a patch job and that is why they have been selling off those ships slowly but surely and then they are someone else’s problem(and several of the ships that have been sold, have been multiple times,in bad shape every time.
