And not even Southwest’s major fuck up on the way there could ruin it.Luckily nothing bad happened on the way home(and I got to go to the British pub on India Street and to the British store which is across the way from it(and the only British store left in the San Diego area AFAIK)
My visits to Oklahoma City always go so quickly-this time there was a lot going on-my nephew is reno-ing a house and is going to move into it.The part that I like about it is that the place has a storm shelter(which my brother and his wife do not have and never have had in any of the houses that they have lived in in Oklahoma City.Luckily, they have been, well, lucky.
We did the culinary tour of Oklahoma City..I loves me some Tex Mex and I definitely was able to indulge when I was there. Ted’s ,IMO has the best Tex Mex food in OKC(also they have the best-and freshest-sopapillas.They have those other places too, but they were freshest at Ted’s and Ted’s queso and tacos were FIRE. When you go to Oklahoma you’re not going to eat healthy(ashamed to admit how many times we went out to eat whilst I was there-let’s just say it was a LOT and leave it there) including Eischen’s,which specialises in fried chicken and it is DELICIOUS. I like fried chicken but don’t eat it very often as I know it’s not good for me but I have heard so much about it..and yes, it DID live up to all of the hype and then some.
Whilst I was there I was able to buy Christmas presents for all of my OKC fam and even a gift for my dad at the Catholic store(which is quite the experience. Oklahoma being in the Bible Belt they take everything up to the next level and are much more conservative(luckily they are not so conservative that they follow TM-at least not that I know of,I didn’t ask anyone and I *did* look to see if they had any of his books(they didn’t) but if you are a conservative Catholic that is the sort of place that you will feel right at home.
