[For the first time in like forever]
Jul. 30th, 2021 08:39 amThere are going to be TWO Cruise Critic posts-one today and one tomorrow. You would not believe the sort of drama that is going on on the first Alaskan cruise since ‘Rona.
Lots of issues, because it’s been 15 or so months since anyone was cruising)which is gonna freaking happen you know?) Some just can’t go with the flow of what happens when.. *points above*As an example:The internet has been nonexistent.That’s part of being on a cruise ship. You’re out in the middle of the ocean, WTF do you expect?I remember the internet on our most recent cruise being terrible(they were having to work on it for a lot of the 2 weeks that we were on there but..you get used to it.
But hey, some people just wanted to be the first to be on a a HAL ship, to have bragging rights, as it were. I don’t know about that so much..but on someplace like the Cruise Critic HAL boards it’s a HUGE amount of cred. See also: world cruises(and there are people who have been on multiple world cruises.It’s a weird flex, to be sure.)
Other things that are bugging:
The lack of entertainment(that could have something to do with the fact that Alaska is a port-intensive cruise and people have to get going early in the morning .
QR scanning(because we all know how tech phobic a vast majority of posters on the Cruise Critic HAL boards are.)
Water in a can not bottles(HAL is trying to make their carbon footprint smaller and for that, good for them) If worse comes to worse you can drink water out the tap because it tastes fine to me.Some might disagree but YMMV.
The dining room service(again:It’s been half a year since HAL has been cruising,Give them a freaking break!
You know who I feel sorry for?Seth Wayne, HAL’s ambassador. You know he has been getting the shit hassled out of him by disgruntled cruisers(who happen to be Cruise Critic posters.Of course .)
