I saw a book called Please Please Tell Me Now-a biography of Duran Duran, so you know I had to buy(and read) it-and I did..in a day and a half!

Was it stuff that I knew?Of course!(as an aside: if the internet had existed when I was a Duran Duran fan I would have bored everyone I know with random facts. As it was, i was able to find those facts out from the magazines that I would buy!)

In hindsight there are things that I say “well, yeah!” at. Like their drug habits at the height of their popularity.I didn’t know that at then time but now, looking at videos and looking at pictures it is GLARINGLY obvious. John Taylor especially. It’s mentioned several times how bad his drug addiction was and it was looking bad for him but he finally got clean and has been clean for many years now(good for him!) I also didn’t know that John’s father was a POW in World War II which made him a less than perfect father. Also also?I’d forgotten that John is the Catholic member of Duran Duran. No wonder I wanted to marry him!

A couple things the writer got wrong:The name of their minder(bodyguard):It’s Simon COOKE, with an E on the end.The author spelled it without. There was also a reference to a in store at Vinyl Fetish. I’m not sure..I could SWEAR that in store was at Tower Records. It’s a minor thing but I’m right about Tower because there was a lot more space there(probably..that store, as well as the whole Tower chain..god I miss Tower. I started going there more after my Duran Duran years-I would take an across-town bus to get there. For me, it was worth it. And sometimes I would go to the *other* Tower store which was in La Jolla. There was also a store that was far and I went to that one(once.)
