[Good bad movie]
Nov. 26th, 2020 09:24 amWatched 2012 for the first time in a while.Don’t get me wrong,I dislike all of the things that they got wrong(and any scientist will tell you as such).It’s a guilty pleasure movie.
What worried me at the time it came out was that 2012 fever was at a pitch(and we were still a few years away from the 2012 prediction and there were susceptible people who listened to Coast To Coast AM(which did a lot of shows about 2012..and don’t even get me started on the tables full of books on the subject at Barnes And Noble .I hate to think about how many trees had to die for books on 2012.
Getting back to the people who are easily freaked out..one of the first scenes in the movie is footage of a suicide at a Mayan(of course) temple. People who buy into what they hear on Coast To Coast are maybe going to do that. IIRC correctly people were sensible and didn’t(thank god.)
