Someone got injured on a Celebrity cruise and of course HAL is so much better.Why? Because Holland America gives a shit.And. Celebrity doesn’t.

Celebrity cruises has yet to contact us,I hope that HAL would handles things a bit differently.
(Here’s the thing: the OP(original poster) and several of their friends and family were on a non-cruise line excursion.When you don’t book an excursion through the cruise line you’re taking risks.That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t(we have, several times). Known that.Be aware of that. Independent excursions can be great but it’s best to do your due diligence before you book them. One of my favourites was a excursion that went to Pompeii and Sorrento, Italy. Though we got back just in time!)

What was the cruise line supposed to do?
(Exactly.Also, this is exactly what cruise insurance was invented for, among other things.)

If it was a private excursion what was the line to do?
(Basically, see above. But I do think that some of the independent excursions are really good, and they can be a better deal for the money.And some people *only* do them because they’re cheap(meanwhile they’re the same people who always book a suite.WTF.)

Show at least one iota of concern

(Which isn’t HAL..You would not believe how much trash talking of “rival” cruise lines goes on on the HAL boards at Cruise Critic.

People automatically believe Celebrity was negligent
(All I have to say about that is I hope that HAL never has anything bad happen along the lines of what happened with the Concordia .
