[Comparisons:Not always a bad thing]
Jan. 2nd, 2020 09:53 amPost about Regent cruises-someone asked why it was on the HAL boards.Of course. You’re always going to have the people who want to keep it strictly about HAL.
But you know what?I think it’s a good thing.’cause then you can see how other cruise lines do things.Especially when they are doing them better than HAL does.
Let’s be real:There are some places where HAL gets a “must try harder”.Well, unless you’re one of the diehards that is able to excuse things going wrong.
Ever wonder why I would never go on a VERY long cruise? It’s because they are on the smaller, older ships which can get in places the larger ones can’t.Those are the ships that tend to have issues the most. And given that a LOT of the places that those ships go are in warmer climates, things like,oh,I don’t know..not having a/c could be an issue.
There’s people who because of health issues need to be in a/c most of the time lest they overheat. It does beg the question:If you know the ships have issues with a/c and you have health issues that depend on not getting overheated, then why did you book that cruise?
Flip side of that is you *can* buy cooling towels that you get slightly damp and wear around your neck which are supposed to work really well.I’d probably book the cruise but just be aware of the fact it might not be 100% perfect(and that is what the cooling towels are made for).
Diehards seem to be able to excuse a lot of things-and when it comes down to it it was the fault of the person who had the issues(they left their balcony door open, they flushed something they shouldn’t have down the toilet. Passenger error? EVERY time? I highly doubt it though some of the old guard would have you believe that is the case.)
