If I lived in Florida, shit anywhere that was going to be affected by Hurricane Dorian, I would have been out of there a long time ago. It’s gnarly.
Californians-especially here in San Diego-freak out when there is even a little bit of rain.Especially when it comes to driving(and there are a lot of freeways here in San Diego).
Do we learn when it comes to which places get flooded(Fashion Valley,Dairy Mart Road-yes,that’s a real place!)?Nope!
Another thing that is annoying is they get freaked out and talk about how rain and wind etc. are “extreme weather”. Nah. It’s MILD compared to what the rest of the country has to deal with(including hurricanes in that.)
Here’s an interesting story though(and I don’t think it happens very often). My dad says that the eye of a hurricane went through our neighbourhood when I was a kid.I have no memory of this, and am glad that I did’t because the closest I ever want to get to anything like that is watching the Discovery Channel.
(A bit of research makes me think that the hurricane was in 1976-77 or thereabouts)
