roaming_kate23Yesterday I went to Del Mar Highlands shopping centre. Hadn’t been there in a LONG time and it has changed a LOT-they moved Jimbo’s over and there is a lot in between where it was and where it now is.Also, right above Jimbo’s they are close to opening a Sky Deck which is a food hall with a bunch of different places to eat.I am excited to try it.
A few places that have closed down-the French Bakery-I had lunch there one time and had the thought that they should just stick to baked goods and coffee(what they were good at, IOW).Also Papyrus is closed.
The mainstays will always be there(McDonald’s,Rubio’s, etc.)
One of the things that I have been wanting to go there for is a new bookstore for one thing. I do loves me a good indie bookstore. Imma do a post about my favourite indie bookstores very soon.
Also had coffee at Philz coffee.That is new since the last time I was there(which is several years, admittedly). Philz coffee is one of those artisan experiences where they make every cup of coffee after you order it.It’s good coffee, too(expensive, along the lines of Starbuck’s but, IMO, better than Starbuck’s.
