Children of the 80’s reco: Shoplifters Of The World. Watched On Demand and I.. this movie mirrors my life in some ways. I can relate to being the weird kid that likes weird music and being made fun of. In the movie they’re in Colorado-which,flyover country, and it’s set in the 80’s and very much a different time,.
There’s a line from Panic by the Smiths(the Smiths are a plot point for this movie in a big way..I won’t say any more than that in order not to be spoilery):”The music they constantly play says nothing to me about my life”. True that.I think the only time that I listened to the radio is if they were going to play a new Duran Duran song and I would find a way(even if I was at school!) to listen to the new song.My teachers were never(as far as I know) aware that I was doing that.
Y’all know that I was a Duran Duran fan back in the day..I loved their music and got a lot of shit for being a fan of theirs.Living in liberal California you’d think the opposite would be the truth but..nope.
