roaming_kate23Chilled out sort of Sunday.I keep saying that I am going to have a day where I don’t really do anything and it’s going to be today.And when I say that I don’t do anything,I mean exactly that.Wait:technically not true:I am making corn bread as one of the sides for dinner tonight.It goes really well with what we’re having. Also having retried beans(it’s a Mexican style chicken casserole.)
I think I mentioned the other day that my mom and I bought a Christmas tree at Target(on sale, too!) Yes, it’s a artificial tree but we’re doing things a bit differently this year.And my mom didn’t put a lot of ornaments on it so(if we need to)we can move it around. Or take it outside(weather permitting.If not then we will be in the den which has a sliding glass door going to the outside.) Everything related to get-togethers requires a little thinking outside the box .Since the weather was nice when all of this started we didn’t worry about it so much but now we’re getting into fall and eventually winter and we have a rainy season(which can be at any point from right about this time of year through winter(sometimes as late as April).Now, my dad went out and bought a canopy for us to sit under(the one we had before wound up in the pool during a windstorm and it was toast after that-one of the legs was broken and the canopy part of it had a HUGE rip so no good(especially if we were going to be sitting under there when the weather was not that great. But if it’s rainy and cold then we’re going to be in the den.Especially if we were going to be having dinner or whatever.I have mentioned this to my parents about knowing when it’s a better idea to be inside.
