Secondly, have people from Cruise Critic found this blog?Mary Louise has had her Twitter on lockdown for a while now which makes me think someone pointed her to this blog.Granted,she has always been paranoid(she is easily the most paranoid person I have met(apart from the Hannibal Fandom troll but she is a whole post in and of herself..)
If anyone from Cruise Critic is reading this, feel free to comment, defend yourselves,whatever.Just know that I will break down your posts and point out anything that I feel is incorrect.
Now! Onto the actual post.I did say that I was going to do a post of some of the most controversial posts as a sort of filler(turned out there was quite a bit of drama on the Cruise Critic HAL boards) and boy did I ever come up with a list.
Hurricane Irene:I remember a thread that Mary Louise started ripping Royal Caribbean a new one because of the way that they handled the situation.Yeah, Royal Caribbean could have done a lot better but not to the level that ML took it to.
Dress code threads:These have always been a hot button issue. Quite a few people have a opinion about dress codes and their opinion is LAW.
Someone said that they should just have a dedicated thread for the dress code .Yeah..it would take about 2 seconds for that to blow TF up.
I’ll just say this:From what I have observed over a number of years is that there are a number of throwbacks who want cruising to be the way it was years and years ago.People take this shit deadly serious, with comments like “If you don’t want to dress up for dinner then stick to the stairwells and avoid common areas”. Fucking WOW. Look,I dress up on Gala/formal nights and I really don’t care if you dress up..but there are some serious aggressions going on when it comes to dressing up and the *level* to which you dress up. if you do the bare minimum you’re barely trying. And of course there was the thread where a particularly crusty poster said that shorts should never be worn anywhere on a cruise ship except for in ones’ cabin.Fucking WOW,once again.
Let’s not forget Rev. Douchebag’s thread where he posted pictures of people that he thought were not dressed appropriately for formal(at the time). I can’t stand Rev. Douchebag for a number of reasons but his opinions about dress code are the biggest reason. He said he got people asking him if he’s Rev. Douchebag from Cruise Critic. Ugh.as if he is not obnoxious enough then he gets people stroking his ego(which is huge enough as is)
I’ll just say that he knows what he is doing-he says he didn’t go around photographing people.Uh, actually, guy, yes you did.And got your ASS handed to you for that. And that’s why he disappeared for quite a while after that only reappearing when a dress code thread needed straightening out(IOW stating his opinion,usually several times, about the dress code.(Rev. Douchebag:The Know Before You Go booklet is the authority on this issue. Yeah..and people are dressing up, or now, with Gala nights, dressing up, but maybe not to the point that you do which means that you can rip them a new asshole.)
