OG Below Deck just started up Monday and..

I feel so bad for the person who has to hire people when they get fired because it happens..a LOT more than you would think.

The chef is a born again. Christian but admittedly has issues with..substances..and also has anger issues. He keeps telling the film crew to leave because they are up in his face .Uh..you signed up for this show! He threw a fit because one of the primary guests thought his steak was undercooked(he wanted it well done which I could make all sorts of comments on but I won’t and the primary is a real piece of work but I’ll get to that in a minute.)

The primary guest is a germaphobe who flies with a black light and Clorox wipes.And does inspections . We’re getting at least one more episode with them and the drama that comes with it.And the chef getting fired. I love that the captain doesn’t put up with much from his crew and he is not afraid to fire people.

RHONY(Real Housewives Of New York) and RHONJ(Real Housewives Of New Jersey) are on pause. Whether that’s permanently or for a few years we don’t know.

On the Real Housewives Of Atlanta one of the Housewives revenge porn-ed someone that she felt threatened by. This is so specific.And meant to hurt,too.AND she was getting called out..BIGTIME.Can’t wait for Sunday’s episode to see what happens going forwards.

As of right now she is no longer filming with the show.I think that she should be fired if she hasn’t already.That is pretty bad and I have seen some pretty bad Housewife behaviour in the past and they did NOT get fired.So clearly there is a double standard where that is concerned.And execs at Bravo have been called out on that..MORE than once.

Then, on Below Deck Down Under there is a crew member who is the biggest asshole and,again gets away with it. It’s getting to the point where people are taking their frustrations out on him-and the crew member in question just sits there like “what’d *I* do??”

Bravo’s new show Sold On SLC is DRAMA central.Real estate brings out the catty(and competitive) in some people.

Add to that it’s Salt Lake City.And as is mentioned in almost every scene,the Mormons run SLC to say nothing of the whole state of Utah.

The average size of Mormon families mean that they are looking for homes with a lot of rooms(and bathrooms) and also space for multiple(yes you read that right) washers and dryers.

One of the agents is a single mom(and lesbian and..of course..a former Mormon.) One of the other agents identifies as some sort of Christian(she is originally from Brazil.)

The Ho’wives. …Have been..ho’ing. Especially Orange County..Two of the women can’t stand each other because the younger woman, Alexis, is dating Shannon’s husband.There is all sorts of behind the scenes drama too, and that means the two of them can’t stand to be around each other.

Put it this way:It’s a fight every time the two of them are in the same room.Shannon can’t stand that her husband has traded her in for Alexis.

However, they are always going at each other, and neither of their hands are clean. Both have been told to try and chill TF out and try to get along..Well, TBH that just makes things worse. There is Single White Female coming from both sides.And we’re hardly into the season yet!

I give Shannon credit:She has owned up to most of the things that she has done.Yes, she almost killed someone when she drove drunk but she paid/is still paying her debt to society .

Monica is out on the Salt Lake  Housewives. Honestly I can’t say that I am  surprised by this is any sort of way. She is also writing a tell all book along the lines of Heather Gay.

BUT..the fans are divided.Some want her to come back..and others are like “BYE FELICIA”.Me, I am in the glad to see her  gone camp. Stupid shit like the burn book she had on the finale didn’t help things ay.

If we are going to bring anyone back(and Jen Shah is in jail for a while yet) it should  be Mary Cosby.Yeah,I know she is controversial  in the fandom  but I have a soft spot for mer. I like underdogs  what can I say?

Whilst we’re mentioning Jen Shah..she has WAY too much power over the rest of the cast when she can press gang Heather Gay into  covering for her..Jen  Shah gave her that black eye and I knew it at the time.When Jen gets out of prison it’d be interesting(if the RHOSL is still  around then)for Jen  to  come back for a guest appearance.She has had plenty to say about the black eye thing from prison. Girl has access to the internet  so she definitely knows what’s going on wrt the current season of the Housewives.

Bravo TV is finally laying down the law with regard to issues.

1)Alcohol related training for cast and crew.

2)Psychological care

3)HR presence

Gonna unpack this:

First of all I am going to kinda go a bit off topic and you’ll see why it’s important in a minute;This hasn’t been a thing until very recently but in point of fact this short of stuff has been going on for a lot longer than most people realise.Like at least the first few seasons of The Real World. Specifically the Seattle, Return to New York and San Francisco seasons ,Seattle most famously when one cast member slapped the shit out of another.Basically, all the person who did the assaulting had to do was go to anger management classes and MTV and the production company got a lot of shit for it.

If I had a dollar for every time arguments on a Real Housewives show had almost turned into -and have-that is why at least one Potomac housewife was kicked off of the show. IMO there should be more interaction with the crew/.producers(there is a worry that that will encourage tattling but the housewives are(mostly) mature enough that they wouldn’t do that but also if there is stuff going on, they should feel like they can talk to the producers without being worried about being seen as a snitch.

And yes, psychologically that can take a toll on you.And as I said before there needs to be an open door policy-for both the cast and the crew. Alcohol doesn’t help either. A LOT of the arguments-shit, most of them-are alcohol related. Turning a blind eye to what is going on doesn’t help anything either,Neither does the..sometimes opposing attitudes of people on the show.They deliberately try to find the most opposite people as they can-and sometimes they have known each other for YEARS but then something happens. And shit hits the fan and also it creates divisions- half of the cast on one side and the rest of them on the other.

Bravo shows that need an overhaul ala New York(which is starting out STRONG)as is Orange County.

Potomac(get rid of everyone save for Ashley and Candiace.)

Beverly Hills(they sort of did that getting rid of Lisa Vanderpump)

New Jersey(bring back Rosie but not Kathy and her husband.)

Get rid of:

Married To Medicine(the last few seasons have been BORING.)

Below Deck Sailing Yacht(the crew do nothing but bed hop and that creates all sorts of drama that gets old pretty damn fast.

Below Deck Down Under(the ship they are on this season is a converted sailing ship and the person that did so did a half assed job.)

Also, what is it with the revolving door of crew members on Below Deck?It is very reminiscent of the early seasons of The Real World where they would get the most opposite people in one house and eventually one of them would do something to the point where they were asked to leave. The two examples that come right to mind are Puck from San Francisco and Stephen from Seattle(ah yes-the slap that was heard around the world..and all he got for his sins was having to go to a couple of anger management classes. Mind you, some of the issue was that another cast member outed him,when he did not want to be outed. That’s not a good look.However, slapping someone is NOT a good look. And the reaction to it-basically looking the other way at it-well not looking the other way but there needed to be way more punishment given what happened.
