roaming_kate23The Omen has a prequel coming out next month.At first people were like “this is going to answer a lot of questions that we have always had about certain aspects of the original film. “Then we get the first trailer and we get the information that a key aspect of the original film has been changed and people felt some sort of way about it.In the context of 1976 it probably made sense..but here is the thing:It has now become canon.So to walk it back after all of these years doesn’t make any sort of sense.
We’re finally going to get Damien’s backstory and those of some key characters(and it will explain why they had the motivations that they had.) The characters I am talking about(if I am correct) are going to be more fleshed out than they were in the original film.. In the original 1976 Omen film they were-well, at least one person was-proper scary.the other was one of the people who was there when Damien was born.If anyone would know what sort of power that kid has they would. Clearly Father Spileto does(and will we find out how he become disabled-well, we know that he was burned in a fire but clearly he has a MUCH bigger part in this-as does Margaret, And it becomes a conspiracy on a HUGE level. What is the deal with Father Brennan and his bedsit with bible pages and crosses.
Damien is powerful, and Brennan knows this and wants to atone for his parr in it. It doesn’t end well for Brennan- put it that way.
The car crash in the trailer is someone trying to keep all of the secrets of the cult(hiding in plain sight)
I was a little confused about who the woman in the trailer was.There is the nun, who if I am right will be revealed to be
Mrs. Blaylock the evil nanny from the original 1976 movie.
Her and Father Spileto and Father Brennan got out into some sort of evil minion witness protection program and in the case of the woman-Margaret - who becomes a nun when she moves to Italy-has her name changed to Mrs. Blaylock. Except I don’t think she was ever a Mrs. In the original movie she looks like she could have been a nun in the past. She goes to Italy to have a new start in life.What did she do that was so bad that she had to become a nun?
And then there’s Robert and Katherine’s son. I believe that the baby we see wrapped in a blanket. Is in fact their child. who was born at the same time as Damien. They thought that the Thorn baby was the Antichrist and they killed him. Except the fucked up.They killed the wrong kid.
We will see how right I am on April 4th.
