[try hard but coming up short]

(No they weren’t. They liked to think Sassy was better than all of the other teen magazines out there.Truth ne known Sassy’s. Sales numbers were always lower(much lower) than any of the competition.We’ll talk more about the competition in a moment.) Sassy was an underdog in every sense of the word .)
Seventeen and YM were the established magazines at the point which Sassy came along. They were laughing at Sassy behind their hands “look at them trying to be “cool” and “hip” and failing miserably.
Sassy made fun of Seventeen.
(And all of Sassy’s other competition. Not saying that this was a factor in why Sassy eventually went under but it was one of many.)
Unless you’re a music magazine Kim Gordon shouldn’t appear in your pages so often.
(And all of the Riot Grrl bands.Which is interesting because later on there was resentment towards Sassy(and also at the time. This was why there was a media blackout and all of the riot grrl bands refused to do any sort of interviews..except with Sassy.But that backfired.Boy did it ever.)
Jane’s starfucking.
(Lest anyone forget one of the “diary” pages at the front of the magazine where she talked about how she was in a certain band’s music video(which I was never able to watch the same way ever again after that.)
