[I truly have done my job!]

My nephew-and-godson was in town. He grew up in Oklahoma, very conservative..The sort of programming that he got was HORRIFIC.Anti-gay,among other things.Conservative in every sense of the word. He attended Catholic school-as did my niece-his older sister—and there was no room for interpretation or leeway on *anything*. I heard the stories every time they would come to visit or when I talked to them on the phone.They harassed my nephew because he had his hair longer to cover his hearing aids-when he was a kid he was very self conscious about it.

When he showed up at my house he was wearing an “all lives matter” shirts,for lack of a better way to put it.Black Lives Matter,no hate(gay,trans,migrant, everything.) I was so proud as an aunt and also as his godmother.He talked a lot about how conservative Oklahoma is .He wants to move out here where people aren’t constantly asking your opinion about your political leanings(you think I’m exaggerating-I’m not..*and* he works in the public sector so it’s not like he can avoid it.)
