[Making my point so well.]
Tuesday, 6 February 2024 08:56Sassy was so different than the “other” magazines.
(Too different.)
Sassy had a rigid world view/
(Especially with the Riot Grrl coverage.)
Sassy’s singular voice was its downfall.
Tthey were so desperate to stand out from their “rivals” went a bit TOO far.)
Sassy could be judgemental to its ideas.
(Thinking they were the only ones who could run stories about Riot Grrl for one thing.)
YM did articles on punk rock Mormons.
(This was post Sassy when it was edited by one of the former Sassy writers)
Sassy wasn’t sold because of unpopularity.
(And as I have said before they had nothing closed to the readership numbers that their “rivals” did,)
When Sassy was sold and moved to the West coast there was none of the snarkiness.
(Sassy had been in a downward slide for a long time and it was like putting lipstick on a pig.)
