[Staying up late for the good shit.]
Aug. 2nd, 2023 09:07 amNight Flight and Friday Night Videos(and, when i was in high school, 120 Minutes.) So many good memories there!
Night Flight,IIRC was a mix of music videos, film clips and stand up comedy(!) They would show stuff that other cable channels(especially MTV) would not touch with a 10 foot pole,
Sort of related was MV3 which was local to L.A. and Southern California which was hosted by Richard Blade who was a deejay on KROQ which was THE radio station back in the day and which broke a lot of the bands of the day(especially Duran Duran!)
The later part of high school 120 Minutes was my jam. Of course I already knew about sone of the bands on there since I read the British music press obsessively and hit the local record store to see if they had any of the records I was looking for. I didn’t mind paying a little extra for them..sometimes. When I was into Duran Duran I got a *paltry* allowance and had to save up quite a while to get anything that I wanted.Paid off though..eventually I amassed a pretty good collection of stuff.
