[Most Catholics be like *shrug*]
Jan. 28th, 2023 08:00 amPope Francis saying that we should stop treating homosexuality like a crime is wonderful;.Mind you, he still says it’s a sim but IMO it’s a start.Small things!
Gotta say, the vast majority of Catholics truly do not care.I know I don’t. I asked my dad about this and it definitely got his approval. You have to understand that my dad is a cradle Catholic(as am I) and is old enough that he remembers Latin Masses(and was happy when they went to English with all of the changes that came with Vatican II. I was born probably a decade or so after Vatican II so that is all I know . You have the people(some of whom are converts and didn’t even grow up with it) complaining about how terrible it is. Why speak on things you know nothing about?
Then you have the fire breathing Catholics who insist that you MUST follow the church to the letter of the law OR ELSE.Have never understood that attitude quite frankly. Quite a few of those people are converts buy there are some who just like living in the past. Thing is, it’s 2023, not 1958. The church has had to concede to some things(except for when Benedict the 16th was Pope. He was determined to send the Catholic Church back into the dark ages. Pope Francis became Pope and changed all of that-for the good.I think I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion that I love Pope Francis and am of the opinion that he has been a VERY good thing for the Catholic Church.) The day he was elected Pope I knew he was going to be a good Pope,And have been proven right!
