[You’d be surprised]
Dec. 11th, 2022 06:56 amRead a book where the main character’s mother gave birth to her, having no idea she was pregnant and then died.
Several things:
1) The birth happens in 1905 ,and having a baby back then was dicey for any number of reasons.See also:No prenatal care(it wasn’t a thing back then even if she HAD known that she was pregnant.)
2)The main character’s mother grew up in an orphanage but you would think they at least knew *something*.
3)And only had 3 periods in her life and was very obese(which makes me think of PCOS.With that you usually have trouble getting pregnant but there are exceptions to every rule.)
The husband can’t believe that she didn’t know/tell him but it sounds like she was honestly not aware until it was happening.
