The Union Tribune had a article about albums that are turning 40 years old this year. There were a couple of them that I was familiar with and some that I wasn’t but let’s talk about the ones that I WAS familiar with:
1999,Prince
(A classic.I miss Prince. His music was …*chef’s kiss*)
Thriller, Michael Jackson
(What can you say that hasn’t been said a zillion times.)
Also released this year(because I was curious and did some research):
Combat Rock,The Clash
The Night Fly, Donald Fagen
(Always reminds me of riding around Rome in a taxi(a lot more recently than 1982).Good times.)
Rio, Duran Duran
(This was my gateway to Duran Duran.A friend of my brother’s loaned him a bunch of albums and this was one of them. My brother wasn’t that much of a fan but he couldn’t have known that he was going to hear that album(and Duran Duran’s subsequent albums) a LOT. For a few years there Duran Duran were my LIFE.)
