[Extremely extreme]
Jul. 30th, 2022 07:39 amThe 8 Passengers were a Mormon Vlogging family.
Well, they are still alive but they don’t do the vlogging thing anymore. And they are on the extreme side of Mormomism. The mom has changed her mind about many things, including supporting the LGBTQ community. One of her family members came out as non-binary(good for them!) and the 8P mom was like “shakes head” NOPE.
This is someone who does not want anyone connected to anything LGBTQ to associate with her family. Sher would DEFINITELY deny one of her kids if they came out as gay. It’s not just how she feels about the LGBTQ community. She wants nothing to do with her family and they her. I have heard the “her kids are all going to want nothing to do with her and she’s going to be alone”. That sounds about right.
There are “principles”for how things should be done in their family. This is on the extreme edge(that’s putting it mildly)of Mormonism(tell me you’re a Fundamentalist Mormon without telling me you’re Fundamentalist). Principles are THERE for a reason, and if you break rules, there are consequences(dude:One of her kids pranked his brother and got his room taken away for MONTHS because of a fucking PRANK. Another was sent to a “wilderness camp”.
The kids don’t go to Church, you will not be part of the family.Holy fucking shit.I went to Mass every Sunday as a kid until I was old enough to refuse. If I felt bad or whatever, I didn’t go.My parents didn’t push the issue.I would have never been not been considered to not be a member of the family because I refused to go to church. Or be told that I have to go hungry because I forgot to pack a lunch, as her daughter has. There are so many examples that I could give here but I won’t.
I mentioned a Mormon saying “not all Mormons are like this”.Yeah, it applies here, too.I know Mormons who, whilst they follow the Word Of Wisdom(Actual Mormon principles, unlike the way that the parents interpret them…)
