*Santorini is out as a cruise ship port. For HAL anyways. Not that I am going there. And if I was I’d do a land vacation for a couple of days. They are trying to keep the sanctity of Santorini. Same with Venice. Venice has the added problem of slowly sinking into the lagoon. The Aqua Alta(high water) doesn’t help things either.
Here’s the thing:Because ships(BIG cruise ships) are not allowed in Venice anymore, they have to go to places that are a hour or more away from Venice itself. There are complaints that HAL isn’t giving enough heads up on this. Disagree. There are some that like to rip HAL a new one for any sort of slight towards them as a longtime customer.
*HAL was forcing people to wait outside(in Ft. Lauderdale) in almost 100 degree weather.
Well the issue arises when:
1) Passengers show up before their set boarding time(going back to the discussion about wanting to be the first to get on the ship and get all your stuff sorted out, etc.)
2) The beer virus.
Passengers need to understand that we’re still in a pandemic and there are protocols that need to be followed. You’re not just going to walk on the ship just like that .HAL doesn’t love you THAT much(even though there are some on the Cruise Critic HAL boards who think the crew on “their” ships love them and are glad to see them..but in point of fact that is very far from the truth.
HAL, of course, get the blame and it’s blamed on “poor planning” on their part.
