[A book everyone should read(if they haven’t)]

Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. No spoilers, but the parts where he is a prisoner of war and lived through the bombing of Dresden ..that actually happened. Can’t imagine how intense that was, to be safe(in an underground bunker) knowing that the city was being bombed..then after it was all over leaving the bunker and seeing the destruction-it looked like a lunar landscape to give you some idea.

The slaughterhouse is still there(it’s now part of a convention centre) and you can visit it(outside they have a marker saying that it is THE Slaughterhouse Five) but not many people in Germany are familiar with the book which is surprising(they should be!)
