[Child of the 70’s and 80’s here]
Thursday, 2 December 2021 08:07The trailer for Licorice Pizza is giving me all of the feels. It’s been compared to Almost Famous which is more than a little on the nose given that the star of the movie is the son of Phillip Seymour Hoffman and (in the movie) looks like his dad in Almost Famous(his dad played Lester Bangs). Will definitely be seeing it.
But the other nostalgic element to it is the music in the trailer-Life On Mars by David Bowie.I think y’all know that I am a David Bowie fan and was devastated when he died.Movie trailers, especially if they are movies set in the 70’s, need more David Bowie. But that’s just me.
TCM(Turner Classic Movies) really has an interesting mix of movies .The other day they were showing The Mixed Up Files Of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, a book that I loved when I was a kid and just read a few years ago and now(having seen the movie) want to read it again now. There was a scene that jarred a memory..I couldn’t tell you when I saw it but I had.
