Oct. 4th, 2021 08:48 am*Today is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Patron saint of animals ,ecology, and San Francisco.
*Call the Midwife premiered last night..and the new season brought all of the feels. And then some.
*Why haven’t they caught Brian Laundrie yet?It is amazing how long this has gone on.When they catch him I will definitely talk about it.
*Anyone who knows me knows that one of my HUGE pet peeves is fandom oneupmanship. And that is coming to the fore with the new James Bond movie .It is hugely divisive among fans and “true fans” are shitting all over the fans who don’t like it. Which is not anything new really. “I’m a better fan because I have ALL the merch”, that sort of thing.IMO it seems like some of these fans have f you money to be able to buy everything that they have.
This is what happens when you have multiple actors playing the same role(and when the films are sometimes not that great.) You have the fans who really like aspects of the old films(which have been mined for comedy-think Austin Powers.) If they go back to those things then they are not going to be taken seriously . Doesn’t matter to the “true” fans.
I noticed that the mods at at least one Bond board were telling people who went after the ones who didn’t like the movie that they were going to get a time out/banned.For once they are doing their jobs because they sure as shit weren’t when I was posting there. Figures that *this* would be the thing that got them to start doing their job.
