[Actual weather/It worked out in the end]
Sep. 10th, 2021 04:14 pm*Last night we had thunder and lightning-for quite a while, I might add. Thunder which went on for ages and ages(when I went to bed I had my TV on and a fan on me(hoping that the power didn’t go out-it didn’t thankfully.)
No rain(a bit at my parents house).People on Nextdoor were wondering if it was heat lightning but it didn’t have any of the signs if being heat lightning. The reason we get these monsoonal storms is that it comes up from the Gulf Of Mexico(I don’t think most people know that there are Pacific hurricanes-there are. We do not usually get storms but when we do, they are doozies-I remember a summer storm that was the textbook definition of a monsoon-and afterwards it was hella muggy. But much like last night(minus the rain in most places)
*Today I tried to pay for my bus fare with cash but was told that I needed my bus pass. Had to go home and get said bus pass.Slightly concerned because it was a new thing and there could be things that need to be worked out with it but thankfully it worked just fine.
There were quite a few issues when they went to the newer buses(and that’s been over 20 years ago now and those buses have been replaced with newer buses(which are a hell of a lot better than the ones that they had when *I* first started riding the bus (the wheelchair ramps would always break..they were just about the most ADA(Americans With Disability) UN friendly buses you could get. I’ve been riding the bus for over 30 years and I have seen a lot of changes in that time. Including that the bus drivers got a lot nicer(my friend and I had a running joke that it was a prerequisite for bus drivers to be grumpy assholes(not all of them..but there were a lot of them that were. I reported a driver for being..a grumpy asshole.He didn’t like it and he went past my bus stop when I was waiting for the bus. From what I know, apparently when you get enough complaints about you, automatically it’s a demotion-paper pushing mostly which to some of those drivers would feel like a step backwards, for sure.
