Yes, the Cruise Critic posts are back! And there is a developing post so that is going to be next week!

But for now: Older ships

Portly Princess:I could get from one place without needing to pack a lunch
(She really is food driven)

Also Portly:If something was forgotten in a cabin it was a short trip to retrieve it.
(She is out of shape.Toa dangerous level. Also one of several people who would be OK if they died whilst they were on a ship. Oh-Kay..)

Docked next to the Symphony of the Seas.It was a floating apartment building
(You know my feelings on this:To each her/his own. Conversely I don’t get the love people have for the smaller ships which are allowed to molder and issues with a/c and plumbing get ignored.)

No meet and greets on the ships with the “new” Crow’s Nest
(I like the “new” Crow’s Nests. I didn’t cruise with Holland America as long as some on the Cruise Critic HAL boards have but I liked both interactions. The best example of this is on the Westerdam.I love her but when I went on her after she got the new Crow’s Nest and I liked it so much better. See also:The Crow’s Nest on the Koningsdam which is so hated because of its lack of a library; however they did have several shelves of books that people read during the cruise and left for others to read(we were on a 2 week cruise so plenty of time to read a book.Or two.Especially if you’re a fast reader like I am.) Now that I have an iPad I would probably download a couple of books if I was going to be on a 2 week trip because there is always going to be downtime where you can get some reading done!
