You would be wrong. And apparently if you think that there is not going to be any cruising this year then you are pessimistic. No, we’re realists. Well,I’m not. I’m done cruising so don’t actually have a dog in this fight but I think it’s ridiculous.
The argument to logic is this:They(people who are booking cruises(and then having them cancelled) want to be ready to sail when things turn around.
Here’s the thing though:They have yet to turn around and it’s still going to be a while yet. Cunard just announced that their sailings are paused for the rest of the year. This is not anything new. But why on earth would you book a cruise-not once but several times, only for them to be cancelled. This is not me being nasty but do these people have seemingly bottomless amounts of money to book cruises and not have a problem when they’re cancelled(multiple times, yet!) See also:People who always book suites and brag about it and make it seem like you’re a peon/loser/peasant(delete as applicable..or not)
As usual, CC has so many experts and fortune tellers.
(Ain’t that the truth..and this isn’t just true of this situation..dress codes come right to mind.)
The thought comes right to mind:Are people REALLY that desperate to get on a cruise ship again? Apparently so. Cruise ships are just so much better than real life..I would suggest that when things get back to normal(whenever that is)-and if they can afford it-look into Residence At Sea which is exactly what it sounds like-you live on the cruise ship and everything is there and you get to go to a lot of cool places(you do that with a regular cruise ship but there you have to leave the ship and go back home.Which,IMO is the worst part of the whole deal. One thing that I never got to do was a back to back where you do two cruises, well, back to back(usually in the same area).
